McGrath Metastatic Breast Care Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled, motivated, confident, specialist Oncology/ Breast Care nurse to join our Breast Cancer Service at Cabrini Health for the position of McGrath Metastatic Breast Cancer Nurse.

This is a two year McGrath Foundation funded position hosted by Cabrini Health that will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to support and coordinate care and services for patients with Metastatic Breast Cancer.

The McGrath Metastatic Breast Cancer Nurse will be responsible and accountable for providing a high level of person centred supportive care for patients with complex health needs.  This encompasses patient assessment and coordination of care required, provision of education to patient, carer and staff; consultation, provision of counselling to the patient and carer, and liaison and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to ensure the best patient outcomes. The McGrath Metastatic Breast Cancer Nurse will be an integral and active member of the multidisciplinary team and hold reporting and data collection responsibilities.

The successful candidate must have well developed counselling and communication skills, strong leadership and advocacy skills, and be able to problem solve and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. A minimum of 5 years post registration experience in the field of oncology, palliative care or breast cancer nursing together with post graduate qualifications in similar field/s is essential.

Screening Criteria Essential: Post graduate degree in relevant field
Essential: Minimum 5 years experience in Oncology, Palliative Care or Breast Cancer Nursing
